Politics and the Press

The Amherst Democrats will be presenting a panel discussion on politics and the press at Souhegan High School on May 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.  The panel will discuss issues ranging from the role of the press today; what constitutes news; and what obstacles face today’s journalists as they report the news.  Audience members will be able to submit questions to the panel which will be moderated by members of The Claw, Souhegan High School’s digital newspaper.

Panel members include:

Arnie Arnesen, host of The Attitude on WNHN 94.7FM in Concord NH. A daily talk show focusing on people, policy and politics.  Arnesen previously hosted two award-winning political shows, Political Chowder on WZMY TV and Capital Ideas on WNDS-TV.

Jeff Feingold, editor of the New Hampshire Business Review.  Feingold has won several journalism awards, including the NH Press Association’s Writer of the Year and Editorial Writer of the Year.  He has spent much of his career covering government and politics at the local, state and national levels.

Kevin Landrigan, senior political reporter for the Union Leader, ran the State House Bureau for the Nashua Telegraph from 1988 until the bureau’s closure in 2014.  Landrigan then became chief political correspondence for NH1 News where he remained until 2016 when he joined the Union Leader.  Landrigan is a frequent guest on public affairs programs, has appeared on the “Today Show”, Fox News, and MSNBC, and is a regular contributor to talk shows on NH Public Radio and WMUR-TV.
