Show up to the next State Board of Education meeting (6/8) to stop Frank Edelblut from undermining New Hampshire public education
When: Thursday June 8 at 9am
Where: Londergen Hall (Department of Education), 101 Pleasant St., Concord, NH.
What: Frank Edelblut wants to rewrite the state’s math and English language arts standards. This is a blatantly political move. At the May State Board meeting, parents, teachers, superintendents, and community-members showed up in force telling the state board to reject Edelblut’s attempted rewrite. But new State Board Chair Drew Cline asked for additional public input. So we need to turn out in force once again on June 8.
TODAY the NHDP is hosting a phone bank to elicit opposition to SB3, which would restrict voting rights in NH. This type of phone banking is easy, efficient, and effective. The House votes Wednesday, June 1.

There will be an Executive Session on SB 66 — fetal personhood — on Tuesday, May 9. SB 66 would provide that a fetus should be included in the definition of “another” for the purposes of first and second degree murder, manslaughter, negligent homicide, and causing or aiding suicide. SB 66 is unnecessary and inconsistent with current law, and if passed will have consequences that threaten the rights and health of women in our state.
Senate Bill 3 (SB3) which has passed the Senate strictly along party lines and is now on its way to the House where the date to vote on it is TBD. SB3 is a bill incorporating a wait period to vote, and a commitment to live in the state in order to be eligible to vote. College students are definitely the target of this legislation. It forces voters who register the same day to sign an affidavit which could end in a $5000 fine if anything is deemed to be improper. It also snares military personnel.
